Emissions test today.

Just passed my emissions test here in Washington state. Currently the only test for diesels here is opacity. The limit is 40% and mine came in at 2%. That's the same reading as when I last tested two years ago.

Not sure how it is in other states, but for now, they don't even do any sort of visual inspection under the hood. All they do is plug a device into your lighter/12 volt socket, have you floor it 3 times when signaled, and that's it. Pretty easy deal.

Here in TN, they don't open the hood either. They plug into the ODB2 port, probe the exhaust, and thats about it.

My truck is exempt, due to the GVWR being over the 11,500 cut off for mandatory testing.

Opacity is a measure of how much light is blocked i believe. 100% Opacity Means nö transmitted light is Received across Sensor.
