budget ranger

anyways my buddy n i went in on these trucks to build on a budget.
we got both trucks for 500.the stock one ran.the other one had the motor and trans pulled but he gave us those also.it came with a brand new glass hood and new glass bedsides never mounted.

then we did the black wheel mod:bleh:

then i decided i was sick of looking at the parts truck in my driveway

we got 160 in scrap metal for it and saved the rear diff and front suspension off of it
then we got around to mounting the bedsides

and threw the lift on from the parts truck

we built a custom leaf pack from both of the trucks.we got 11" total out of stock leafs and also it lifted the rear some so we didnt need to use the blocks that were on the previous lift.and got some fox resi shocks for 80 bucks and decided to build a shock hoop

here it is just about done but i didnt build the lower mounts yet or finish bracing my glass mounts

picked up 5- 31x10.50s with wheels for 130.

gutted the interior.built the rear hoop and also got the sides done i just havnt mounted anything yet.

at of this point we were 750 total into it

cage is done

spare tire rack built

my buddy machined the collars out of 17-4 heat treated ss from a shaft from a missile which was pretty cool.

also got a pic of the front light bar.and i know the lights look off but they are all pointing diff directions.im going to aim them in the desert
so its been sitting in my toyhauler since the trip. other than the motor the only probs we had is we made the glass bedside mounts too thin.2 of them sheared so we took the whole bedside off so it didnt rattle. next month we'll be pulling it out of the toyhauler and doing 1/4 plates instead of the 12ga we used before.hopefully that will work. and also rebuilding the motor.all in all we are in it a grand total of 800 combined
edit: future plans are to extend/radius the front beams and heim/coil it.then the motor from the black c10 you see in the background(built 350) and trans will be going in it as well as a for 9" and linking the rear. that is when the budgeting will be out the window
