Haven't found this specific problem in searches, so- recently been throwing codes for all 8 cylinders at once for Glow Plug Circuit, and sometimes it doesn't want to fire when cold. I can clear the codes, and they come right back, key on engine off, without SES coming on, if started, SES lights. Since all 8 come at once, would seem that the GPCM would be a good starting point? I have access to another GPCM to swap out for a test. Top of the engine and connectors are clean, hasn't been wet etc., otherwise runs great. Best test procedure? I have an AE scanner, just getting started with it. 2001 F350 4x4 dually 7.3 auto, CA non-catalyst
Thanks
Ran the KOER Glow Plug test in AE, got a funny one, P1397 Variable Valve Timing Solenoid B Circuit Low Input?
Also in KOEO, got a P0605 Internal Control Module ROM Error
Gonna borrow my buddy's spare GPCM, gotta get a smog check
-All Diesel Excursions have California Emissions which means a GPCM
-Superduties built with California Emissions have a GPCM also.
-The 6.0 came standard with a GPCM no matter where you bought it

Just to clarify, the early 99 CA trucks have a Glow Plug Relay not a module.
