currently removing my intake/exhaust manifold and got them all removed except for the one towards the front of the engine but underneath the intake manifold. i removed the altenator bracket for a better angle and i even took a 9/16 socket an shaved it down but took to much meat off and it split trying to turn it.. anyone have any ideas.. really dont want to snap or cut it if i dont have to.. and i cant seperate the intake and exhaust from one another thats not an option so. and ideas are great thank you!
I'm not sure. When I took mine off, I never remember having any issues. The only issues I had were putting them back on because I couldn't get a torque wrench to some of them.
Have you tried a different DEEP socket? You can buy some that have thinner walls than others.
In the mean time, spray it down really well with PB Blaster, or your favorite bolt loosener.
Bite the bullet and go by yourself another socket. You might be able to fit the "prongs" of a box end wrench on the thing but you take a risk damaging the head of the bolt.
They do a 1/4'' drive 9/16ths socket, so you should be able to get that and a 3/8ths to 1/4'' adapter with a 5'' extension on a 3/8ths socket and be able to get that thing outta there.
Another thing too, while that one bolt is holding the intake and exhaust on there, it's putting a lot of pressure on bolt, so be careful when you remove it.

GOOD point. Lift up on the intake/exhaust as you unbolt it to remove the pressure on the bolt. It can make a lot of difference.
Just put a couple bolts back in to hold everything till you get that one loose(or broke). Heating the bolt with a torch will help, if you can do so safely.
