I know that Matt (Silverbullet2000) has the Carli Bilstein 5100 series one. I didn't want to spend that much money.
I couldn't find just a regular 5100 series replacement.
Is anyone else running something that is middle of the road? I'm trying to avoid getting just a Monroe equivalent type replacement, like the Rancho 5000, Pro-comp, etc.
And I am not interested in a dual setup. I just want to replace the factory one. Thanks!
Bilstein makes a 5100 steering stabilizer (I have the 7100) that's said to be an improvement. Check out Bilstein part number 24-196284. Shock warehouse has it for $78.
After waiting for this for a couple of months I got frustrated. I checked online with the vendors listed on Bilstein's site. It was out of stock everywhere. So I decided to check in Canada. Essex/Bilstein Canada had the part in stock and it's on it's way to my house. I paid a little more but I got sick of waiting. My truck has 7000 miles on it and I can already feel that the factory unit isn't 100%.
I haven't noticed any pulling at all. I went down a couple of roads where the front end didn't seem right in the past, and the stabilizer definitely settled down the truck. So far I am impressed.
Also, this stabilizer is definitely bigger than the stock pos.
How is it feeling a couple days later? I noticed the improvement right away with mine but over the next couple days after I threw it in, I really started to appreciate the replacement.
