efi manifolds on '72 block - problems?

efi manifolds on '72 block - problems?
i'm installing e7 exhaust manifolds on my block, which i think is a 72.
all was going well...until i realized that the rear manifold wouldn't seat because of a sensor, at the very rear of the block. i'm guessing its the water temp sender?
i'm sure i'm not the first person to run into this- what have you guys done to get around this one? i don't want to lose the water temp gauge.

Hi Rusty,
There shouldn't be any fitment issues with the temp gauge, since that's where it is all throughout the years.
Usually, fitment issues with the EFI manifolds come with confusion from the extra bolt hole loops on the EFI manifolds. They're not used.
