I installed carpet in my '63 and am not sure what to do about the visible edge shown in the pics. I may just trim it close to match this curve and call it good, but I was wondering if anyone knew of a better solution, such as a trim or edging piece made for this type of application...
Thanks!
Phil

Hmm... good question! $150 a pair seems a little steep for me right now. I guess it's a rare part and may be worth every penny. "Attractive" for me would be more like $60 for the pair. I definitely need some carpet end trim in this area for a clean look so I will probably watch ebay for a few weeks and see what comes up.
There was a post awhile back regarding someone who repops these at $200.00 a pair.
With new carpet in, Putting in a pair that are all scuffed up would'nt look good. If you find a pair like that I guess then you could take your time finding someone who could recondition them. Price overall will still be $150.00 - $200.00 unless you can do the work yourself.
Buzz, is there a phone # for the guy who is selling the aluminum door pocket trims? When I click on the info tab, MC wants to reconfigure my settings which I DO NOT want. I would like to get a set of these and would like to do it by phone.
Thanks
Thats the only thing I could pic up from the add for you. There was no phone available that I could see. Guess your stuck going email. Ive had that add in favorites for a year or two so I hope its still a viable source. I have not ordered any of his product as Im not at that stage yet. Good luck there TMR
Those door step well trim pieces are as rare as hens teeth...in all my trips to the yards (many), I've only found 2.5 sets.
Guys selling them on Ebay aren't stupid either. $150 for a good pair is a good price. Loosen the purse strings and finish
the job off right.
