Engine Schematic

Waiting on a 6.0 cooler to show up and I will just about have everything I need for the big mod/update in a few weeks. Is there a good schematic out there for the 7.3 that shows exactly what plug is what? Instructions that say remove plug "A" is good; however, not really sure what plug is the right one and with my luck I will hook up my FRx or HPx in the wrong plug and all kinds of drama will unfold. Thanks for any help or direction you can point me in....

Thanks for the reply. I have instructions; however, some of these photos are not the best and I am not exactly sure what I am looking at sometimes so I would like to find an actual drawing of all of the plugs and exact locations indicating what they are to make the overall process less troublesome. I can probably figure it out once I get in there and start removing things but taking out the wrong plugs has me somewhat hesitant in how this whole process is going to unfold. I read an earlier posting where one of the guys removed the wrong plug and these guys do mods all the time so I would rather check twice and unplug once.

Honestly it is pretty hard to pull the wrong plug for the HPx or the FRx. The only plug in the area is what you pull.

For the HPx you pull the plugs just aft of the valve cover harness connector. The tube goes under the turbo and to the other side. Pretty straight forward.

For the FRx, the plugs are easy to find. They are square head plugs. The passenger one is at the front of the head and the drivers is at the rear. The passenger side one is often hidden by the wire loom, so just pull it to the side and you will see the plug just forward of the front of the plenum. The drivers side is aft of the plenum just before the up-pipes.

Climb up on the motor with a flashlight and mirror. Grab the instructions and just take a look. You will see it is quite easy really.

Make sure you soak your FRx plugs in PB Blaster or something. That will make them easier to get out. They can be a pain to get out sometimes.

Here are some pictures for you to ponder over.

Here is the HPx location.

Thank you for the additional information and reassurance. I had envisioned an array of plugs so I will climb in there and see what I can find. I picked up a couple of cans of PB the other day and figured once I find the plugs; I will give it squirt or two every day for a few days leading up to the install. I will chime back in towards the end of the month with a photo of what it looks like after the updates.
