Yes. However, someone posted about a hi-low-automatic set up in a 4.6 iirc.

what yr did the 5.0 explorers have or start having AWD ? i want the trans an t-case

The 5.0/AWD drivetrain was optional from '96 to '01.

My understanding is all 5.0l Explorers were AWD with the exception of the 2 wheel drive models. 1996-2001

Yes, unless the Mountaineers were not offered as 2wd.
