Wasn't sure about the transmissions if Explorers 2 WD had different transmission. What year was the last year 5.0 was used in Explorers?
Reason I'm asking looking to buy one. Seems most of them in the price range looking for is wore out. My wife can't get the 50 lb bag of dog food, chicken feed and bail of hay in her new mustang trunk, lol. Aways seems to have to wait for me. So this is going to be her run around Explorer!

My wife's '98 AWD Ex has the 4R70 trans, and as to what fits and what trans was in some mid 90s Ex the vehicle would have to be inspected and if it is an AWD or a 4WD the trans could be different. I would suggest a '98 AWD Ex with a 5.0 and the 4R70 which comes standard with a traction lock dif.
