Their areas just took a pretty big hit. The same "super cell" system is bearing down on us and will probably be here within the next hour or so. It has to be a big storm because tornadoes are pretty much everywhere, even here in the mountains of east KY. The news is already reporting multiple injuries and deaths.

That same system just passed through northeast Ky. No major damage here but it did get a bit hairy at times. By the way I'm still lurking, reading past threads and still working on the F1.

Thanks Guys for asking, three different cells hit within a mile in three different directions but they all missed us but did tear through the county. Alot of property damage but only a couple of minor injuries. Hey Doc, has it passed over you yet, hope you all are as lucky.

It kind of blew above and below us. We got off easy. But Morgan co, Laurel co, and Middlesboro got hit pretty hard. A pretty good sized tornado hit Morgan co. Bunch of houses destroyed in Laurel co. too.

Glad you guys are OK. Anyone hear from Terry (Truxx)? The storms were about 20 miles from our home, I was at work in Madison Indiana, sent everyone home at 3pm to get them home before the storm hit. Had one lady still waiting for her ride at 3:30. We saw alot of debris fall from the sky. Sure was glad to see her ride roll in so I could get the heck out of there.

Glad everyone is OK. The tornado Weds touched down about 15 miles west of us and killed two, destroyed about 50 homes. Last nights storms and a few tornado's were all around us. Patti and I sat on the porch and watched the light show (lightning & thunder) going on all around us for hours, while we only had some light rain at times.

Glad everyone is ok... houses and stuff can be fixed... we don't need to lose any people !

It used to be just two or three months in the spring when we had these problems... seems this has been all summer, fall, winter and now it's time for it again... keeps me tensed up all year. I travel thru that areas hit last April a good bit... the debris is cleared and there are a few new house starts... but there are still way too many empty slabs and foundations around... still looks like a war zone.

We travel to Biloxi a good bit and it's recovering after their 2005 hurricane but you look around and can still see how much damage it really did... scares the crap out of you to think of that much power

my old neighbor says "It's the end times, I tell you... the end times" shaking his fist in the air... ya'll better be getting good !

later
John

My wife Linda ask me last night what I was reading on here and of course I was on this thread and showed it to her. She asked me how many of you guys I had actually met that was concerned about us. She said it was really something that so many folks were concerned and had never met, then she said that she NOW sees why I am on this site so much. She just couldn't believe that people you don't really know and that live so far away would start a thread just to see if all were OK. I TOLD HER SHE JUST DIDN'T UNDERSTAND--------------IT'S A GUY THING---------------

Women think that they have the corner on caring...men care just fine, we just don't need a big public display of us doin it or movies made about it. Hope all is well with everyone in the path of those storms. My mother-in-law lives in Nashville so we have been concerned about her for a few days now but all is well at her place.

I saw a spot on the news last night about a man who lost his home somewhere near Knoxville...he was fine because he was not in the house at the time, he was in town at the Krystal hamburger shop. Strange how these things work...
