89 f150 idle problems

89 f150 idle problems
hey
got a 89 ford f150 custom v8 5L, when i first start it up idle goes to around 1400 (im assuming it knows its cold and has at high idle to warm up) after about 1 minute or so the idle will drop to around 700-800, i will put it in first gear, and when i push in the clutch to change gears it will rev up really high and it takes a while for it to come back down to normal, usually a few seconds. So i thought it was the idle air control valve, took that off, cleaned all the built up carbon off, and its still doing it, so i thought it was faulty and bought a new one, but its still happening, ive cleaned the throttle body aswell, clean as a whistle, what ive been doin to temporarily fix this is let it run for a few minutes, let it rev up, and turn the truck off, and turn it back on, and it works like new, always happens on a cold start tho, rather annoying, any feedback or other areas to check would be appreicated, not a mechanic just worked on a few vehicles
