cps problem
I had a problem with my CPS, and installed a new one yesterday, truck ran fine for a few miles, then acted up again. my local performance shop pulled the codes and it was the CPS. I cleaned the plug and connector port with elec. contact cleaner and applied some di-elec. grease. plugged it back in and it ran like a top. this morning it acted up again on my way to work. I noticed the wires for the cps had some very worn out elec. tape on them, could the wires have worn insulation, hence the reason for the tape? and if so could they be grounding out and causing this problem? if not where do I go from here? truck is a 99 7.3 psd

Which CPS? Grey? Black? Blue? Where did you get it from?
I ordered 2 from Parts Guy Ed and both have served me well for a long time. I only replaced the first cause of another issue I had and I thought that was the problem but it wasn't. So now i have a spare in my glove box.
