I got the finish work done on the shroud. It's actually black now too, but I have to wait until later before I try to put it in. I got side tracked today helping out a guy mount some tires

 

Evening all!

Its been a rather productive afternoon today. I've finished stripping down the heads and gave them a bath in carb cleaner. The valves on one head have been successfully lapped and cleaned again and is in the process of being reassembled.

Thanks for the advice on the lapping Alan. The intake valves cleaned up well with just the fine grit paste, but those exhaust valves made me resort to the coarse grit to bring out a nice finish.

Well - going to put my greasy duds back on and get a couple more valves installed...

 

wow that is bad alan.. i cant imagine anyone coming over and making you work on some ragged old tires when we all know you have alot of work to get done...whoever it was should be shot....................... then shot again

 

Woo Hoo! I just sold that old 302 that was out of that red parts truck I scrapped a while back. More money for painting products.

 

Nah RC, he's a good guy. Besides, he's got a lot of parts I want to get off of him!

 

thts cool alan..i am glad to see someone got something sold.... i think i will just have to haul a few cars and trucks to the scrapper to get the money i need for the bus... that or sell some of my organs ...anyone need a slightly used liver, kidney ......i would sell my heart or brain but they are both too small

 

Alan, let me know how much some of that paint costs, if it isn't too much trouble when you get the stuff for your truck. Enough stuff to do half of a truck. Don't make an extra trip or let it take too much of your time, but if you could, I'd appreciate it.

Yes got wheels, Got tires mounted yesterday! Hope with A little trimming I can have them on the truck today!
