He bought that Chevrolet that I posted a while back.
Supposedly the engine and tranny had been rebuilt/replaced at 160k. Well, the tranny is done for now. It also turns out that the CEL wasn't working as there were quite a few codes stored in the computer.
Well, that sucks for him.
Seems you can't trust anyone anymore.
Were there receipts on the engine and trans replacement?
Morning Lee! Glad stuff is settling down for ya. Yeah that is a nice pic of the goat!

That's not good. I had a friend that bought a car once and same thing happened with the CEL so ever since then when I look at a vehicle I always turn the key on and look for the CEL to make sure it lights up.
It would be wise to bring a scan tool or code reader of some sort too.
Were you able to find someone to buy Beth's car?
Exactly!
Not yet but I have had a lot of calls so I am not worried. Just being a little stubborn on the price with all the calls I seem to be getting. I am gonna try for top dollar!
Nope, there were no receipts. Transmission replacement at 160k I can understand but why was that motor replaced? Those 5.3s are usually pretty stout.
The fact that the CEL was burned out or removed makes me wonder too...
I can understand the transmission, but like you said, why the engine too?? IMO, it was probably all BS that it was replaced, just to get a little more $$$ on the sale. I can't remember, was a private party sale or dealer?
My brother is on his way out to Vegas now so my dad brought it up to the tranny shop. I told him to call the seller and ask him WTF? What is the worst that can happen? He tells you to get bent?
Its had a lot of stuff done to it. Those are not an upgraded wheel so I wonder if there is another set for it and why is it plugged in when it's warm out and no snow on the ground in the pics?
If that was this winter there was no snow...not a super cold winter but some people plug them in when it gets down near freezing. Although it looks like there are leaves on that tree...hmmmm
Although at this point I am in better shape than my brother. Bad news bears for him.
weird... he bought a shovey.

Yup, I would call...
I'm guessing the seller knew about it, and that's why he was selling.
Not particularly, looking for something newer, more comfortable to ride. If I can't find something reasonable, mine will get modded to be more comfortable to ride.
