Turning off the tc doesn't negate the lag but if you're on a rough chip sealed surface it probably helps you get going. These.New trucks put down a lot of power so they spin the wheels a lot easier than previous generations

I have this, and it drives me crazy! From a dead stop, just light throttle, it starts to go for a split second, then hesitates (lags), and then catches and you're off to the races. Don't know if it's the drive by wire, but my 02 was instant response and no delays or lags. I'm going to have the reflash done here shortly, but seriously doubt it fixes it. When I was test driving trucks I noticed it, but thought I would get used to it - I'm coming up on 1 year with the 2011 and still not used to it.
