I was driving me and my dads 96 f350 welding truck yesterday and it lost power for a split second and threw the cel. After that the truck ran fine. I scaned it today and got p0603 pcm processor kam error next was p0344 cps circuit intermittent error and last was p1211 icp above/Below desired. Truck is a 96 f350 with 109k on it. Bone stock. Would the cps being bad cause the icp code? Thanks guys.
P0603 and P1211 are two of the most popular codes on any truck that is chipped or has a tuner on it. I'd say both of those codes are likely caused by the Edge and will continue to show up, and should be continued to be ignored.
I went a couple of years with the 1211. I changed the ICP and it didn't help. I learned, like Chris said, to ignor it. My last reburn stopped it, so far, knock on wood.
thanks for the replies. This is on another truck i have not the one in my sig. I just use the edge to check codes. The truck this happened to is all stock and has not had a chip or programer on it. I wasnt getting on it when it happened, just cruising at 55.
Just an update. Left the house yesterday to go to a welding job and a quarter mile from the house truck died. I thought it was out of fuel but it wasnt. It was just like you shut the key off. So i let it sit for a couple min and it fired right back ran for a min and half then died. I got it back home and scanned it and got the same codes as stated earlyer. I went and got a cps from ford and it has solved my problem. Maybe this will help some one. I still need to get a spare one for it like i have in my 95.
That would make sense mike. It is located on the front of the motor bottom left if you are starring at the front of the truck. Easy to change you just need a 10 mm wrench. It was bout 32 dollars from ford. And for what its worth the bad one i took out had a black oring and the new one was purple.
