Was considering buying this torque converter as it was suggested on another post, was wondering exactly what it would do to my truck? I've got the C6 behind my old 6.9. Sounds pretty tight at 70+ mph but still getting 15-17 mpg. I have no idea what the RMPs are though also I have 3.55 gears. No stock tach, but thinking about putting in an aftermarket one this summer.
Any idea what my RPMs are?
Is this converter a good buy?
Any other suggestions?
I have the same setup as you but I don't have a tach either. I'm assuming you have 235/85's? If so you should be around 2700 rpm at 70mph. A more efficient low stall converter would help some, How much I don't know. Maybe 1-2 more mpg and a couple hundred rpm drop if your lucky. The problem is no lockup converter and no overdrive. There are other options if you're willing like a zf5 or e4od swap or you can get a gearvendors overdrive but you still have no locking converter and those things are expensive.
