79 tailgate

Mornin' all, my 79 f250 has a hole in the tailgate you could stick your fist through. They seem to to be at a premium here and the local pick and pay has mostly newer stuff. Would something newer physically fit with out too much rigging? It's kind of a rust bucket anyway, I just want stuff to stay in the bed when I put it there. Thanks, John

From what I have read I am pretty shore that a 90s tailgate will bolt wright on, but im not positive.

It'll fit but you'll have to change the latch design to the striker style like a door
