@Ron - I was wondering how close you were this weekend, I was looking for your dually. Farm & Fleet is the only reason we ever go to the Republic of Urbana. I live closer to Champaign, but I remember you saying you had family here in Illinois. Thanks for the complement on the truck.
@Tim - Thanks buddy, enjoy your vacation!
@George - Thanks for the complement, have a good evening!
@Roy - I hope Teresa is feeling better this morning.
@Gerry - Good morning buddy, spring is almost here.
@Joel - I hope you son got plenty of rest and is feeling better today. Yup, that's the closest hospital to me.
Sorry, I've been holding off until I get a better idea of what shape the tuck is in. It's a resto that started in 1993, it was just finished last year, mostly the lift, OMG it's tall. I had a buddy of mine stop by today to look at the truck and he gave me the thumbs up on a couple of issues that were still nagging me. Let's back up a minute, I got it home Saturday night about 6pm and spent the next 5 hour going over the truck finding things that I thought looked really bad to me. I got so upset I almost puked. I had a chance on Sunday to really take a closer look at the truck to see what I really had. It's not an in tact truck, it's a very good Heinz 57. The cab is from a '71 F350 that was Wimbledon white and had a 360. The truck has a 390, running gear from a '76, rear springs from a dually and steering gear box from a '79. All of the sheet metal is rot free, with no patch panels. I had no idea this would be so overwhelming. That's why I waited 'til now. My stress level this past 5 days has been really bad.
I do feel better now.
Here is the bad news, I know it looks cool, but the lift has got to go, sorry guys. I want to be able to climb into it without bending the steering column and pulling a hammy.
This a good friend on mine who I have known since 5th grade, I made him get out of bed Saturday morning at 4am so we could be in Eldon, MO at 10:30 am.
Those are 38.5s
Now I just need Darren's winch!
The best part, my wife loves it and has already named it "Old Blue"
This is all thanks to John! I owe you buddy.

Were those pallets also free? Should have grabbed a few of those too.
Okay Kamikaze deer... bring it on. My brakes have been working great so far, not that I wanted to find out that way, but should it happen... I have backup now.
Sorry I missed ya buddy. Would have been nice to meet you. Hope you don't need the spare bumper.
Pallets are free too, just leave 2 or 3

@ Darren, Just hackin on ya man. I like the mods you do on your truck. Hey, is warranty going to cover your radiator issue?
I know Ron, it's all good. I am proud to be a redneck
I can't even come close to keeping up either Ron .
These guys go a hundred miles and hour.
IDK, from what I know the rad is on the 36,000 mile warranty so I doubt it. I don't have time to take it in until probably June anyway. So i redneck fixed it... kinda.... I pounded down the clips with a hammer and flat head screwdriver. Definately slowed down the leak.. For now it is what it is. I will keep an eye on it and that's about it. Drive it like I stole it. If it warms up I will throw some duct tape on it and call it good. Redneck repair pic:
Hve a good day guys. I gotta get some work done today cuz I am out of town Thursday and Friday
Morning guys...I ended up working all night. Just checking in now. I was behind and working on a nasty project that just had to get finished. It's going to be a long day and I have Scouts tonight. Oh well, at least I'm done with that one
I hope all of you are doing well and having a great day.
Hey Gavin, I knew there was a truck I wanted to show you but had forgotten about it until now. This truck belongs to one of our members, tin-man (David).
It's a gorgeous old 1975 F-250 and I've always loved it. Unfortunately, David hasn't signed on to FTE in about three years now and no one knows his status. The truck is a thing of beauty.
That's a cool looking ride!! Reminds me of my younger days.
I used to have a pea green 1971 F-100 4x4 Custom. Ugly truck but I drove it for about four years then traded it on a red 1978 F-250 4x4 Custom. Drove that sucka for 21 years. I had the white spoke rims on it. It looked pretty good cuz there was a white pin stripe down the sides. I hope this truck lasts 21 years.

Thanks Darren, I hope the wife forgets the part about me selling the Mini-Maxx.
