'They'' need to make deer season longer or some thing, obviously theres a problem......
Yeah, a few years ago, they did an eradication where they thinned the herds around here with animal control officers doing some sniping at night. Didn't do much good though. They wreak havoc on vehicles, gardens, etc. constantly.
Theres a problem with bears up here, ''they'' took away the spring bear hunt & now the bears are attacking people, getting into garbage & breaking into homes.......even killing ppl in National parks
I agree Gerry, he just faded the second half of last year.

I wish more of the drivers would have done the same thing. NASCAR is nothing without fans.
Ron...my thoughts and prayers buddy. I hope you guys find the strength to get through this challenge. Keep the faith...

Thanks guys. I appreciate the prayers.
The wife came back from the hospital Sat. afternoon and said the doc isn't going to operate for at least two more weeks. So, we headed home. Drove for 8+ hours. Pulled into Grand Island, NE at 1 am to get a room and they were completely full due to a wrestling tournament. Arrrgh! Drove to Kearney and they were full due to a basketball tourney. Arrrgh! Drove to next town and checked in at 2 in the mornin at a roach motel. Oh we'll, at least I got to lay my head down and close my eyes.
We will see how MIL does over the next couple weeks. Might be heading back there soon. Home for now, tho. Sure feels good. Thanks again all for your kind words and prayers.
Darren, you're gonna have to change yer aviator. It still has four lights. What kinda redneck are you anyway? LOL
Yeah I just started watching Gerry. I wish Jr. was doing a little better though.
John. Really I think Jr is finally starting to grow up. He is 2nd in the points. While he doesnt have his fa thers fire.. things are very different in racing theses days. Dale Sr was a move or get moved person. Very aggressive. Today if you look at a driver theres a penalty or something. They had it have at it boys. That didnt work. It has become just a huge money thing. I have to still respect Jr for leaving to race for other teams.

Man, that's a long trip Ron. Glad you all made it back okay. Trying to find a room sounds like trying to find one around here on Bristol Race weekend.....everything's booked solid.
Continued prayers and good thoughts coming down here to all of you my friend. Keep us posted.

I feel fairly sure it was something along the lines of getting to meet the 72 virgins a little sooner than expected.

Oh yeah, I love Jr., Paul. I just hate to see him struggle and he has at times recently. I was so hyped up last year when it looked like he had a chance at the championship! And I know what you mean about racing being different now. NASCAR has begun to allow them to settle some things out on the track now instead of just doing the knee-jerk penalties they used to but long gone are the days of Bobby Allison, Donnie Allison, and Cale Yarborough fist fighting on the apron of the track.
I have an enormous amount of respect for him and I absolutely despise what Theresa did to that team after Sr. died. I think if Sr. could have anticipated what she was going to do with the team, he may have had things set up a little differently than he did, if he did at all. The huge thing about Jr. is that he is an absolute fan favorite, and with good reason. Win or lose, he's a hot commodity and Hendrick knows that. I know he felt like he owed Jr. (his words) but he's also a super shrewd businessman and he wasn't going to pass up the opportunity to sign Jr. no matter how much money it took. Matter of fact, that was supposedly one of the sore points among the other HMS drivers....the amount of money Jr. was signing for was allegedly a lot more than a couple of the others were getting.
Back in the day, I was a die hard Davey Allison fan and there weren't many who could touch the Alabama Gang on the track or off. When Davey died, I quit following racing for a couple of years. Too many of the greats have died.

That was another spammer that posted your quote, by the way. Heck, even our hallowed threads aren't safe.
