Ive been told that if you had just the block of any of these motors you could build each of them if you had all the internals on the same block because its the exact same block. Is this true? My cousin has a completely bare 360 block sitting in his garage and i would like to swap my 429 cj for a 410 but was wondering if i have to start with a 390 to do this or if i could use the 360 block and build it to the 410 with the 390 rods and a 428 crank?
The 352 had a std bore of 4.00, 360-390 bore of 4.05 std. Yes you can take that 360 block a 410/428 1U-1UB crank and std short FE rods and make yourself a 410.

Swap a 429 CJ for a 410? Note the bell housing pattern is different, so a new bell or trans if automatic is in order as well, along with all the usual changes required for an engine swap.
If your 429 CJ is in CJ trim, you are looking at a reduction in power as well.
The FE is a fine motor and the 410 is a good combo, plenty of torque, etc etc. But you are not gaining anything here and you have the complications of an engine swap.

I have a ford torino that originally came with a 429 cj but the car is in a terrible state and has no motor so the motor in my truck is going towards the resto in that car. Also i thought the 410 had more torque than a 429 cj? I already have a 4spd with bell housing for a 390 so its a moot point.
The engine code starts with a K which ive been told means it is a 429 cj. I dont have any verification that this is true this is just what ive been told. Hopefully?
