37's will be tight but they should work. I had 35's on mine before the lift and it still had room left to play. You dont plan on flexing the truck much do you?
From what I've gathered a stock height with good leaf springs that ain't sagging you can run 35's and clear no problems. 38's fit and have some room but can't really flex the suspension because they will rub and you may have to adjust the steering stop so it won't turn as tight of a radius because you are getting into tire rub on the frame and I've seen someone with 40's on stock height but clearances weren't to great without some lift
Oh and there was this one guy...forgot his name...he put 40's or something on his stock high boy and all he did was trim the very bottom of the wheel well in the fender and recreated a lip. It ended up looking pretty good. If you want some pictures and you don't mind waiting till Friday I can take my HMMWV take offs from the highboy and throw them on my 78.
I dunno man. I'm running 35x12.5 (the metric equivalent) on 16x10's and it's a pretty tight fit. Mud flaps definitely had to get removed...
A sawzall is always a solution for a bush truck, not sure I would do that to my purdy Merc though...
I posted pics of mine with the new wheels/tires here, have a quick search, I think the thread was 'new boots' or something like that... My sig picture shows Dino on 33's...
