HPOP Trouble!

I have been having trouble with long cranks and poor fuel mileage.Over all my truck has just not been running right.I did some checking with my AE scanner and found that the Hpop was not putting out the pressure and the duty cycle was through the roof. 2250psi and 85% duty cycle, that was in 80E with a DP turner.

Here's what I found when I pulled the modded 17* from TE

The front seal was come out of housing.

You can see were seal was rubbing against the Hpop gear.Good think I deciced to pull the pump when I did.

Just glad I gained the knowledge of FTE to help me figure out what was wrong.

It was obviously your DP Turner being out of blinker fluid. Send me the Hpop, chip and $6000 and I will have the truck good as new in 4-6 months

I think that's one of the reasons Joey quit doing the modded 17 HPOP. Simply doing slight mods to an existing pump left too many issues that could or would fail, or would simply not perform well enough.

So what flavor HPOP are you going with now? And ignore Andrew. I can do the same thing for $5,500.

Nice heads up Brad. That would definitely scavenge some HPO pressure and cause the duty cycle to soar.

Did you have your's redone or send it in as core and get a different one back?

Good find. AE paid for itself that time.

Nice catch Brad! I would think a new seal and some loctite would fix you back up. Might stake the outside of the seal slightly also.
