Do any of you guys carry extra fuel? If so do you use a Jerry can. I know the dangers but will be doing it any way. Lack of a fuel gauge is helping me come to this decision. Also any ideas on fixing gauge?
I can go around 500 miles on my full tank, set the trip odometer to zero when you fill up and when it gets to around 500, fill up again, repeat as needed.
By the time you devise a rack, get a can, and make the fuel theft proof (had a Jeep in Az. the somebody put a hole in the bottom of the can to drain it), you could drop the tank, repair any problems, and be out having fun.
Find out if you have power to the gauge from the tank.....if not, then get to the sending unit. If power is there, look into the gauge.
Thanks everybody, All the other gauges do work, and I am used to watching odometer for milage as I ride a Harley. I will check for a disconnect tomorrow. Look in my folder and you can see the trucks and my bikes. I will be posting more pictures soon.
I wish to even get a jerry can but i have no idea what it looks like. I was just going to get a gas can and strap it to my spare tire rack in the back I i could get a metal one that didn't emit fumes that much that would be nice. I will need something for when i go 4 wheeling so i don't get stranded.
