5R55E O/D light blinking sometimes
I have a 1999 explorer with 180,000 miles. A few days ago the O/D light started blinking. The truck does not shift oddly or slip. I have noticed just before it happens, the trans seems to search for lock up slightly. It does not happen every time the truck is driven and I have taken it to two trans shops with no codes found. I suspect either the valve body gasket bad or the trans temp sensor / wiring harness is bad. If I take it to the dealer for them to pull the codes, I will have almost as much in the diagnostics as buying the new parts. What do you guys think? Any help would be appreciated.
