Tank pickup fix

A friend of mine sent me a pic of his sender/pickup fix, using a readily available gas assembly:

Looks like a pretty slick fix for a broken pickup tube.

The only thing I would have added would have been pick up screens on the "t" other then that truck runs great !

Is the T clamped on or just pushed into the fuel line? I'm gonna have to do this to the back tank on mine.

The "t" was just pushed into the hose , the barbed fitting was quite hard to remove , although you could clamp it .

having some form of strainer on there is highly recommended. also, it would help to have something to keep that hose straight, otherwise it may curl up a bit and only get fuel when above 1/4 tank or whatever

I agree , the hose has a piece of wire in it to keep it curved .
I don't plan on pouring sand in the tank so it should be ok lol .
The biggest thing was getting it out of the driveway . The boss (wife) didn't care for it parked there - hence the rush

The weight of the fitting should keep the end of the hose weighed down. At least that would be my guess. Not sure if it would slide around on of the bottom of the tank and wear a hole in the tank... But a little piece of hose on the other barbs, or o-rings would probably prevent that from occurring.
