Hi, I am at my wits end dealing with this master ford parts cd, That being said I am hoping that either mikeOoOo or nummerdummer can help me, I have a 1977 F250 Highboy that I am repairing the front steering on, I have sent my steering cylinder in to be repaired and have located a bushing kit for the end of it where it bolts to the tie rods, what I need are the correct numbers for my tie rods, I am not so sure that Autozone is getting me the right ones and the parts cataloge as I said is not really helping me, my VIN is F26SLY26140, HELP!!!! Please
Based on your steering linkage setup you are working with a highboy, but your VIN indicates a midyear '77 lowboy, highboys are Y20,001 and earlier, perhaps that's your issue when ordering parts.
Well I could be wrong but I was under the impression it was a highboy, it does have the in cab gas tank, it does have power assist steering, and the divorced transfer case, it has a low pinion Dana 44 front axle and has 4.10 gears
Well that's a lowboy VIN you posted, but the truck you described is a highboy, something's amiss here, can you post pics to see what you have going on there...

VIN: F26SLY26140
F26 = F250 4WD Pickup / S = 400 2V / L = Michigan Truck Assembly Plant / Y26140 = 1977, assembled February 1977.
Even though the parts catalog sez before serial number Y20,001 for last High Boy, this is the 2nd High Boy VIN I seen here on FTE with a serial number from Y20,001. This is probably assembly plant related.
Look here in the '73/79 truck catalog: Illustration Section 30 - Page 12: Notice the left tie rod end is available by itself, but the right tie rod (pic shows 3A130, but it's actually 3280) is a one piece assembly.
These parts are not listed by themselves in the catalog. They are listed in the front driving axle parts lists and there are over 100 of these!
Edit: More info is needed to get the correct parts because of the Y26140 serial number. I edited out the part numbers, because without the tag number, there are too damn many variations.

Ok, not to contradict you by any means, cause you know WAY more than I do, but when I look at it that way, my truck does have dual piston calipers and it looks like maybe the part numbers should be D2TZ-3A130 & 131-A, what do the letters in the columns signify and where do you get that info from

You posted the VIN: F26SLY26140 / F26 = F250 4WD Pickup.

Look at this pic in the parts catalog...see if it matches what your truck has.
Do you happen to have the front axle ID tag? If so, post the code stamped on it.
These 4WD's are a b!tch to look up parts for, because usually the tag is missing. here are over 100 parts lists, so it's a guessing game inre to what fits what...if there's no tag number.
If you have the tag number, it's EZ as pie to get the part numbers.
Yes, I have that picture actually printed, I see the tie rod 3A131 but do not see the 3280, regardless that is exactly what my front axle looks like, really what I need is 3A130 it is the worst, and it looks like my only option is the 150 dollar Autozone part
