locating tie rod

my uncle has a 76 4x4 crew cab f250. its running the heavy duty D44 upfront and is having some trouble locating the proper length tie rod. i guess this was a 2 year only run and is different then other setups. were do you guys get your steering parts from. he has tried napa, broncograveyard and some other place back east with no luck. all were incorrect parts. they just ordered from LMC hoping its the correct one.

thanks

Try National Part Depot, you will need to look and write down the VIN number

Look under the steering section of the catalog.

I have a book right here in front of me.

76-77 Crew Cab tie rod end = Sealed Power part #802-2063L

So,
What is the axle rating,
What is the date of build (last 6 digits of Vin#)
Power sterring ? and what type ?

yes it does have power steering. the tie rod swings front to back to turn the front end if that helps at all. I emailed my uncle to get the other info for you. by the way what book are you looking in?

I have a sealed power catalog.

You can look at www.rockauto.com for numbers as well.

It is best when asking questions to supply all necessary info at the time.

Is the drag link worn or is the control valve worn?
