Headed home from town yesterday and my tach was reading 2800 rpm.
05 F-250 CC 4x4 V-10 Auto, I'm thinking something is wrong with the tranny and she's not shifting in high!!
Slow way down and tach only drops to 2500. Run it back up and she's shifting, tach isn't reading. Get home and shut it down and tach is setting on 1500 when shut off.
Truck is running great, tach is not reading right. Is there a way to recalibrate it to zero?
Only thing that I did was pick up a new key cut at local Ford dealer. And NO they did not touch the truck!
The procedure differs between the mini message display and the full message display. So check out the entire thread. When you do that procedure, the gauges will all full sweep. This will have the effect of resetting the cluster.
If that doesn't work, I have found that the gauge corrects itself over time and a few startup cycles.
