Key fobs not working
My key fobs have stopped working. I have three and I get no response from any of them. I tried to re-sync/reprogram the key fob but it does not make a difference.
It is really obnoxious because the driver door key tumbler was destroyed by an attempted break in and the only way into the truck currently is the keypad entry.
Any ideas where to start????
Thanks!
Also, which tumbler was mangled? The one in the door or the one in the ignition? I assume you mean the door.
I got this by searching the internet for 200 model (same for 2003 model):
Instructions
1
Enter your Expedition with your new key fob. Place the key in the ignition and turn the key back and forth from off to on eight times in 10 seconds, ending the eighth cycle in the "On" position. This will not turn your car on because they key is not yet programmed, but it will alert the Expedition that it is in programming mode. The Expedition's door locks will lock and unlock to confirm that you have successfully completed this step.
2
Push any button on your new keyless entry remote within 20 seconds of completing the first step. Your door locks will lock and unlock themselves to confirm that you have completed the programming on your key. Repeat this step if you have additional keys to program.
3
Turn the key to the "Off" position and remove it from the ignition. Test your new keyless entry remote fob to ensure that it works

@bumparker
Yes, driver door tumbler.
Yes, I tried the reprogram instructions. The doors lock and unlock after 8 key cycles but it does not react at all to the key fob.
I bought a new key fob and resynced it. Now no problem.
But i doubt u have 3 key fobs that went bad. Maybe the security box came unplugged.
Or did it come like this from previous owner. Maybe has an aftermarket keyless system?
I don't think it is the key fob. It has to be the truck but I don't know where to look first. I've had the vehicle for 5 years.
