Hey guys ive asked this before but looked around and want to be 100 percent before i get into it. I have a 92 f150 4x4 5.0L that needs an oil pan. My question is do I need to pull the transmission from the motor or can i undo the motor mounts and jack up the motor and change it that way? Also does anyone have the tourqe specs for the bolts?
i know you already got an asnwer but i literally just replaced my oil pan gasket on my inline 6.. i removed the motor mounts (and replaced it..) and loosened the tranny cross member bolts and was able to jack the motor up high enough to drop the pan.. was a PITA but it worked and the shop i called said their service manual says to drop the tranny to replace the pan or gasket.. which is like 6 hours they said.. the 4x4 makes all the difference.. if it wasn't there it would be pretty easy..
