I need new ball joints and my local garage said the moog had a lifetime warranty on them. Last night I checked moog's website and they only say they have a 12 month warranty now. I had these installed because they were supposed to good. I now see I probably should of gone with xrf ball joints. What's your opinions?
Thanks,
I know Moogs used to be good but have heard mixed opinions lately. According to their website they now only offer a 12 month warranty but the garage says he will honor the lifetime warranty. The garage is not a franchise either. For my inspection, emissions, chaning the rear fluid (I supplied the oil), all 4 Moog balljoints and an alignment, he quoted me $785 out the door. I told him to do it....I guess I will see what it feels like tonight.
I didnt but when I took it in for inspection my mechanic told me that the lower left was bad. He said I didnt need all of them but I said I wantend them all done at the same time.
Just picked the X up. The total was $760 out the door. They ended up using Moog lowers and Napa premium uppers, both with zerks. They also changed the rear fluid and did a inspection and emission test. Not too bad I guess. Now tomorrow I am having a new bypass tube installed at the shop who rebuilt my trans. It never ends.... But then again, I would rather fix a few things a year rather than have a monthly payment of over $500. And besides they don't make the best suv ever anymore. I love my X.
