choke cable from a bumpside?

choke cable from a bumpside?
i have a buddy with a junk bumpside, i noticed it has a choke cable that still works with the decorative bezel on the dash.
he said i could take it but id like to know if anyone else has used one in a dent, where a good place to put it would be and how to remove it from that old truck without damaging it? or should ask about it in the bump forum?

Should have a locking nut on the back side like most of them, take it and use it if ya want and or need one.
Install it maybe in the slip cover on the bottom side of the steering column and not the lower L/H dash area like everyone else. Or make a drop bracket to hold it and hang it where you want.
I hate stuff hanging from the area to the left of the steering column cause its a shin buster, but over by the ash tray or by the key ing (close to the key will remind you to use it) is outa the way IMO.
