Tire Recommendations

I just bought my next truck, '86 F-150 Long Bed. It needs tires. Currently, it has 31X10.5X15's on it, but I desire to go back to 235/75/15's. This will just be an on-road work vehicle with some occasional fishing trips, so I don't need anything extreme. What brand/model do you recommend.

Thanks in Advance,

EB

Cooper Discoverer AT'S!!! Cooper Discoverer LT'S are good to but, the AT'S are the latest model and you can't beat them for an all around tire. You'll need a front end alignment when going down that many sizes on the tires.

You cant beat them. I have 45,000 on mine and they are still in good shape.

I would suggest either BFG or Michelin (which I run exclusively). BFG is actually owned by Michelin now. I like the sidewall strength of the Michelins and BFG. Some say they dont like the harsh ride of these tires....Ive never noticed it, or had a problem. Plus, I like knowing that I have a tire that wont crap out on me like a Firestone or Goodyear. My 01 F150 came with Goodyears, and I thought they sucked. You could feel the sidewalls "give" when taking a corner or if you had to pass quickly. As for needing an alignment, why? Youre not changing any parameters. Youre just changing your rotating mass. The tires should travel exactly the same way. I would get your front end looked at, but I dont know if its required. Just my two cents tho...

Cooper Discoverer A/T's. I love mine. I'm also a Cooperholic cause I'm putting Cooper Cobra GT's on my car. Anyway, if you want to know what I had to say about the A/T's, go here -----> Clickity Clack
