66 original paint source
I'm sure I am not the first as I recognized many a backyard structure for painting. My problem was a neighbor, who moved in, and even complained about my native landscaping simply to cause trouble. I have since moved away to a much better location.
After looking over local codes I have found nothing about painting in a back yard. As far as insurance companies are concerned just about every thing is prohibited except Christmas trees which cause more fires along with dryer venting.

Like I said, the inspector was untrained, uncertified (as required in CHSC) and it would not be found in the municipal code since its adoption is manded by state law (& federal regulations for each state) . Ask to see the IFC adoption document and then ask to see specifically "Spray Applications" within article 79..............it is all there and has been since 1978.....and Article 79 is about 20+ pages all by itself, plus references. A municipal code listing are those regs that are adopted in addition to state law, the actual building & fire/life safety codes would be a separate adoption under the city council/county board of supervisors....and is typically anywhere from 20 to 70 page adoption because there are several sections (not 79) that a local jurisdiction may choose not to adopt and other sections such as fireworks that they are required not to adopt but follow other state laws.
