Unless the government management has instructed them to honor "questionable" claims in an attempt to increase business. After all, Government got more money than Ford does, and they're just wanting the loans repaid.

So your inference is that the government has entered the "Customer Service" discussions at GM???

Obviously just an opinion without any facts to back it up.
I was just reading a article today about the presidential candidates as well as Obamas positions and statements on the bailouts versus the facts....Not a one of them is being totally truthful...
That likely explains why I read so many things here, that miss the mark as well.
As far as GM willingly paying for warranty claims that should be denied....As stupid a lot of the politicians are, I really doubt that those in power would be that dumb.
Not only would it ruin career(s) it could also result in prison time.
And the likely hood of evidence surfacing is just about 100%....Everyone who had info of this type would just love to expose it.

naaa...$550,000 in lost profits was just a drop in the bucket for Ford...but it does not change the fact that the bailouts have zero to do with the discussion...
55 confirmed sales kills directly related to the shameful way Ford handles the HPFP failures. It has been said many times and never disputed that Ford makes about $10,000 profit on every diesel Super Duty they sell...55 times $10,000 equals $550,000...

That is an IMPOSSIBLE theory.
Everyone knows that the govt. SUCKS at customer service
I've been watching this one in hopes that we'd see some more relevant technical discussion. The result was lots of discussion about GM and their shareholders...
