Hello all, This is my first Ford and I am stoked! I have been a Chevy man for 30 years and always will be but I am excited about this truck. It has a few issues but nothing major as far as I know. I paid $1000 for it. It possibly needs a motor for the rear window. Also a stereo and speakers and a way to lock the drivers door. I'm sure as I get to know this truck I will want to do a lot more. I am sure there will need to be things done to the underneath too. So what do you guys think?
EDIT... 1988 Eddie Bauer, 240,000 miles (ouch)

Reason: more info
Welcome to FTE and the big Bronco Forum. Looks nice from what I can tell in the small photo... 90-91 Eddie Bauer? Check the FAQ thread at the top of this forum. Run a search of this forum using "tailgate" as a key word. You will get tons of info about the window mechanism and preventive measures you can take to keep things running smoothly and deter future rust. There is a parts explosion diagram in my gallery that shows how everything in the tailgate goes together. Best of luck with the truck and again, welcome.
As a Chevy man you should be used to working on your vehicles (sorry, couldn't resist the jab). Just like all things automotive take your time and do your research. Get the motor running sweet with some dual exhaust and you won't need the stereo. The rear window motor is a pain, but only because you are working in the cramped space of the tailgate. This is a great site. Welcome to FTE.
All the body parts are out there for the rust repair. Looks like a pretty good base. Now that you have a Ford, you can scrap out all those Chevies....lol
Yeah, midwest is a little different than Texas. My mom lives in the midwest and I found a nice one and did try and get a hold of the owner, I think the unknown area code scared him, cause I tried several times with no response.
I didn't feel like driving it back anyway. lol Much rather find one near by, but people are pretty proud of them here.
Your lucky to have people proud of their broncos, the broncos i see around here are usually driven by those type of people who only care that they have a set of wheels and don't treat it well. Or their really old. But i am used to old people, i work at a gMC Buick dealership.
I second these opinions, you should take care of it as soon as you get a week of sunshine. I made the mistake of not doing my bondo work in the summer with my 82 mustang and one day it was kind hot so i was washing it and the bondo expanded and cracked... I never fixed it. Just make her look like a sexybeast
