Jim you pretty much nailed it. In todays paper it says electric vehicles are less than 1 % and hybrids are at 2.46 %. Kidding me? I see them everywhere. Now this is quote from paper. Paul, from Chicago, had a Nissan Leaf for a month before he traded it it for a Chevy Volt. He paid 38,000 for the Leaf and managed to get 37,000 back from the Chevy dealer. And taxs? Still waiting
Why on Earth would someone buy a car, and keep it only a month? It is good that he only lost a grand, but still, you know how much gas a grand can buy? (for me not him! LOL) Now he has to pay tax, title, and registration all over again. Makes no sense.
In our screwed up liberal state there is no room for common sense. Liberals act on feelings, not logic. Is it logical to buy a hybrid or electric car for a $5,000 premium to save $1,000 in gas over the vehicle's life? NO!! But, it makes them think they are contributing to "the cause." I predict that the state will start offering reduced annual renewal fees for hybrids and electrics, not higher. They will then need to raise the fee for normal vehicles to offset "the loss" of income. This will be just another example of wealth transferance by the state. John
Just based on the fact that to build one causes more pollution than a regular gas engined powered vehicle is enough to not buy one. That $5k premium is just icing on the cake. I mean come on, how much gas could one buy with that 5k? Also, are the manufacturers still doing the You don't own it, you are only leasing it" deal?
