Kerosene Mix Question

I'm burning gas right now, but always dreaming of returning to the dark, I mean, diesel side. I was relaying the HPFP issue to my F-in-law this morning as he's got a 2011 6.7 diesel. During the conversation he mentioned the winter blend he's running is mixed with 10% kerosene.

So I'm curious, is the engine and all its emissions gear cool with a kerosene mix? This is the street legal, ULSD fuel.

Thanks!

This is what's called winter blend, in frigid regions if you don't use a winter blend your fuel will gel from the cold.

I take it then the emission system doesn't mind the mix…good. He lost his 6.0 to freezing biodiesel, so I'm glad to hear he's not introducing another fuel issue.

15 years ago I remember 60/40 No.2/1 blend when it was real cold. Terrible mileage but it kept the gelling under control. I wonder if a new truck today will tolerate that much kero.
