differance between 1 @ 2
and the other nozzel labeled #2 the #2 is about 15 cents more
i hope the #1 wasnt dyed fuel ?
if so i just filled my truck up with it.
or is #1 winter blend and #2 regular diesel
thanks for any reply
#1 is lighter, more like kerosene. It has less energy and lubricity per gallon than #2. It won't really hurt anything, but you're dollars ahead by using the #2.
In the winter here in the frozen tundra, some fuel suppliers sell blended fuel, which is a mixture of #1 & #2. Other places sell a #2 product with special flow additives. The problem with #2 is that it can gell up in extreme cold weather and cause your engine to stop running. You may have seen a semi sitting on the side of the road on one of those really cold below zero days - many times that's because of fuel gelling.
You really won't need straight #1 in the winter unless you're way up north in Canada or Alaska.
