Advertized lift/duration/lobe separation is just that- advertized and not the specific grind including ramp profile that is used on the cam...
I highly recommend Iskenderian & Crower & Chet Herbert & Lunati & Howard.
family owned, been grinding cams for decades

IMHO you want to avoid mass produced cams....such as Comp, etc....simply cranked out by the hundreds/thousands. The family operated shops will most likely have a grind that is especially suited for your needs but they also will vary a grind for your particular requirements if that is needed also....typically, a slight change on an existing grind is a no charge item....because they have likely done it before and it already exists in their CAD profiles. It is absolutely best to talk to the cam grinder direct. They might be able to re-grind your oem cam if possible- saving you even more $ (typically about 50%)

To answer that question I called Isky about a cam for my modified 302 and gave the tech the run down on the engine, mods, tranny, rear end and so forth. He came up with a grind that combined patterns from two different small block cams. Ground and mailed to me for around $150-175 since it was 3 years ago. I know for sure it wasn't over $175 and I was very pleased.

I couldn't have said it better.......Nothing like dealing with a family owned business. If you ever have a chance to go to Isky's shop, it is as low profile as you can get....and there isn't a person working in the place that doesn't have a smile to greet you and shake your hand whether its to pick up a bottle of ZDDP or a new cam!

Thread cleaned - those who have been reading this thread already know what was said, so I removed the bickering.

Last warning - keep it on topic.
