One thing I noticed...look at the pedals..or lack of a clutch pedal...you see that little oval boot painted blue but originally black in the floor...any guesses what originally went through that???
If you said the clutch pedal relay rod you are correct...and if the column is original that would make it a 3 speed truck originally...
As for hurt feelings...I understand what you mean but if you are trying to sell a truck and are either advertising it here where there are a few people who know these trucks exceptionally well in and out expect to be called out on a few things...its not about picking on you or whoever is selling it...its simply educating and enlightening people, some of which could be prospective buyers about what there actually is in a given picture/s versus what the truck was configured when it rolled off the line in the 1960s...I dont know everything nor do I claim to...there are subtle differences from year to year on some parts you dont see in the Ford parts catalogs...the upper Custom Cab door trim and the 64-66 tailgate differences, both of which I didnt catch until a month and 6 months ago respectively...I come here to help peeps get parts, reassemble or repair their trucks or inquire about parts for my own trucks.
Its all about educating people in the end and learning stuff or being corrected on misinformation.

No **** Sherlock! But how many peeps know this, or the following?

September 1966: Ford obsoleted the 1964/66 F100/250 2WD, 1966 F100 4WD Styleside tailgate (C4TZ-9940700-A), replaced it with the 1967 (1967/72) F100/350 Styleside tailgate (C7TZ-9940700-A) for use as a service part replacement.

The 1967/72 tailgate, besides having different shaped FORD letters, has a raised ovate scallop line that surrounds the letters.

This is the EZ way to ID a 1967/72 C7TZ-9940700-A tailgate, since the 1964/66 C4TZ-9940700-A tailgate does not have this feature.

ALL the mounting hardware is the same for C4TZ & C7TZ-9940700-A tailgates.

The reason I mentioned the letters, Bill, is that this tailgate has 64-66 style letters.

So in other words, "Sherlock #1" needs his spectacles....

You are the one that needs spectacles.

Look at the pic of the tailgate in post #5. You can see the raised ovate scallop line that surrounds the FORD letters, which means it's a 1967/72 tailgate.

The brake lines and emergency brake cables are not placed correctly. Left cable is placed over the rear differential and right cable is hanging (not secured). The brake lines are not run properly (hanging below the differential. And what is that glob where the axle vent should be? With what I see The quality of work of those basic tasks says to me Parts truck or repair daily.
