My 69

Hey guys and gals!

I have recently joined FTE and wanted to post some pics of my truck.

Let me tell you the short of it. I am doing some work for a man and instead of paying in cash I asked him if he would give me this old truck. As far as I know, it is a 1969 F-100. She has a 240 and three on the tree. EVERYTHING WORKS!

When I took the truck it had not been run in almost ten years. So I put new plugs in it, new plug wires, coil, and I had to unstick the float in the carb. To my suprise, after doing those things, she fired right up! The only rust to speak of is the bed. It is in horrible shape. So... I am applying for help from you all. My initial thought was to pull the bed and put a flat bed on it. But, I love original. Hence my delima. How difficult do you think it would be to repair what you see?

Thanks!

WEINER DOG!

Haha, she looks pretty good actually, the bed is toast for sure, but the front clip and cab look good. Looks like it'll make a nice project.

Yup... the weiner dog goes where I go....

The cab of my truck looks like it was painted with some type of rhino lining. Does anyone know how to care for it or what to do with it when repainting it? The precious owner said that was the way his dad bought the truck.

Thanks,

Roy

I would go south or southwest to find a bed (from my location, that is). Mike's Truck Salvage ( a sponsor) may have a better bed to work with. Cheaper than fixing your rusty one.
