ok the spout connector didnt do anything. I really think there is no fuel getting past injectors. The plugs stay dry no matter how long you crank on it. If I dump a tiny bit of gas down the throttle body fires instantly.
OK so lets do a checklist.
You have the stock F150 wiring attached to the motor right, and everything is plugged i where it should be?
The stock F150 computer is still attached?
What about the TFI(ignition) module, that is also still the F150 version? Did the wiring harness connect to the 5.8 distributor normally? This is something you may have to look at a little closer, is the connector on the 5.8 distributor pinned the same as the 5.0 version? Ultimately this is where the computer gets the signal to fire the injectors and if there are any wiring differences here it won't fire.
ok sorry bout bout to jack the thread alitte, what are the trans that will fit a 351, what are they? how many gears they got? do they need a computer? and how good are they?
would just like alittle info here and it might help others to know this as well
The 5.0, 5.8, and 4.9 engines all share the same belhousing bolt pattern and it is sometimes referred to as the small block pattern. Ford has made or used a ton of transmissions for this platform, the FMX, C4 and C6 are early 3-speed autos, the AOD is an all mechanical 4-speed auto, the 4R70w and E4OD are all electronc 4 speed autos, the T5, M5OD and ZF-42 are 5-speed manuals, and there are a variety of Borg-Warner 3 and 4-speed manuals.. some with an overdrive ratio and some without.
ok the light just went on thank you so much conanski. The harness that goes to the distributor i left with each motor and just re hooked them at the big connection on the fenderwell by the fuse box. So i need to take all the wiring off the top of the motor from the 302 and put it on the 351. It makes sense now im going to run out and switch it. Thanks again.
Both motors use the same injectors, coil, sensors and actuators(with a few exceptions related to differences between OBD-1 and OBD-2), so the 5.0 engine harness will plug right into all these devices no problem. You will have to remove the upper intake to get at the injectors.
