I have narrowed it down to the passenger side connection. Took apart the drivers side earlier tonight, looked good. Made a shim and installed it where future problems wont arise.
There was one bolt that I had a heck of a time getting out. The one behind that rectangular connection on top of the valve cover- it also has the hose that hooks to the turbo inlet. What do you, anyone, use to get that bolt out? Do you loosen the turbo inlet? I need to reinstall tomorrow, hopefully someone has a trick!!
Now that I know its the passenger side, the $180 the dealer wants is starting to sound reasonable.
Thanks in advance,
Sam
I think its the doghouse you mention. Its right on top of the drivers side valve cover. The 13mm bolt is partially behind it. It has a 90degree rubber hose to the turbo inlet. Hopefully that makes better sense.

I used a shorty wrench the second and third time to loosen it and ran it out with my fingers. It was only because i had a really difficult time getting the orings to reseat the first time. I also removed the turbo inlet pipe from the air filter housing all together though. All 3 of those pipes can be taken off in about 10 minutes.
A 3/8" ratchet with a 13mm regular socket, knuckle, and extension have worked great for me. As for the plumbing, I usually undo the hose clamps at the turbo and the intake and then unbolt the collar from the bracket. If you have the doghouse set up like it was from the factory, you'll have to unscrew it from the cover and then pull it off. I have the CCV mod so I don't have to worry about the last part.
Thanks for the input everyone. I thought there was a way to remove the valve cover without removing the doghouse, turbo inlet, or both. No such luck.

The valve cover will come off without having to remove the doghouse. I usually leave the doghouse attached unless I have spare o-rings handy. Usually once you pull the doghouse, the o-rings won't go back on because they swell to a larger size (or at least that what appears to be happening...)
I think removing the passenger side valve cover is quite a bit easier than the driver's side...
