I put 6x9's in the rear but I had to trim a bit to fit.

I put 6.5's in the 3rd row and have 2 more sets for the doors, I got adapters off ebay and I had to trim the plastic in the stock cutouts, it was too narrow. So 6x9's should fit width-wise.

Man the factory speakers are crap, I pulled the grille off one to reveal the lousy dual cone design... my girlfriend's 05 camry and my 02 pathfinder both had tweeters from the factory, I can't believe my $60k truck has this 6 speaker DVD sound system with speakers from a 1950 radio shack dumpster.

I put some 6x9 Infinity's in the rear and a 100" sub in the barn door. Much better for not too much $$.

I made some new pods out of wood for the rears. They really hit hard too.

the way the rear speakers mount, you will also get better bass response if you use some dynamat or peel nseal to seal off the open cavity that the stock speakers fire into... it will help block some of the cancellation.

That is awesome! I plan on doing the same thing and putting one sub in each barn door. It looks great and saves space. How is the bass response from way back there?

Thumbs up

Just thought I would throw this out there! Onlinecarstereo.com has done very well on the 5 purchases I have made with them! They have fast shipping and alot of different brands that they carry. You might check them out.

I just bought a Sony double din xav-62bt for half of what they sell at the local stereo shop for.

Yeah.... 10" haha but anyway, It's mounted in a sealed box I put in and made the other part out of mdf. It sounds really good and it doesn't rattle at all. I am very happy with it. I put the amp under the 2nd row seat like most people do and it works well there too.
