Yeah.... 10" haha but anyway, It's mounted in a sealed box I put in and made the other part out of mdf. It sounds really good and it doesn't rattle at all. I am very happy with it. I put the amp under the 2nd row seat like most people do and it works well there too.
Can your second row seat still fold properly with an amp underneath? I'm more likely to find a closer more hidden spot but that saves so much space. How much of a hassle was it or is it pretty simple?

Yes. it is totally out of the way and the seat folds down with plenty of clearance. It is also pretty much out of sight, you can't see it from outside for sure.

That's awesome I expected the amp to block full seat folding. You did that all yourself? I'm jealous
There is a good bit of room under the rear AC unit for a small amp too... if I had the money I'd buy 2 of those new Rockford PBR amps, mount them under there, and mount a small 12v fan to ensure they stay cool. My old orion amps are huge, though they sound better than most of the new stuff and are made in the US...
What kind of speakers are all of you guys using? I have kickers in all three rows and for subs (10's) in the barn doors. I am not a big kicker fan so I want to replace them with maybe jl audio, mb quart or infinity. I have a 6 channel jl audio sub pushing the 3 rows and another amp pushing the subs. I have two PPI amps that I might put in for the two that are installed now.
Peel n seal is extremely similar to what most manufacturers use from the factory. It may not be the best but its about a tenth of the price of most of the name brand stuff, and it still provides a substantial amount of deadening. Its asphalt based but has no odor, and its aluminum backed so very flexible. goes on with a heat gun.
On a truck like the ex you can spend a ton on sound deadening but there are too many giant, relatively thin windows and eventually you get to the point of diminishing returns.

I wanted to start doing mine little by little. Are you saying its a waste of time/money due to all the windows? Should I just save that cash for gas?!
Start with the windshield, its the most effective per dollar. If you do it really well, it won't be long until the rest of the windows don't matter anymore.

What can you do with the windshield? Replace with a thicker one?
