i have read that a 3.5 inch downpipe is a difference to and my stock one is 3 inch does that make a significant diff.

The flow improvement is about 17%.

may not seem like much but i would definately go with the dp. the stock one is pretty easy to get out also and the two piece new ones goes in even easier.

If you want to get your old one out in one piece, the truck needs to be not less than about 30" off the ground. I had to cut mine in two (ugh...) since the truck was already as high as I could get it in my shop. Maybe it's time for that automotive lift...
