I believe they use the same size hole and thread for the probe. If you have access to the back of the manifold now I would drill and stick while you have the room and save yourself the headach later.

That is what I was thinking.

The trans and up pipes are out of the way it would be a cake walk now. I could also put the shop vac on the end of the manifold as I drill.
